As an up-and-coming haven for foodies, the Triangle offers a lot to love (and a lot to eat!) in the way of culinary concoctions. And though we’ve been getting a little rain lately, Raleigh’s usual glorious weather looks like it will be back this weekend. So in celebration of the impending sunshine, we decided to share our favorite restaurants with outdoor seating. If you’ve recently moved to the Triangle, take a break from unpacking and enjoy the food — and outdoors — at one of these area eateries:
- Boylan Bridge Brewpub – No Triangle outdoor dining list goes without mentioning this spot on Boylan Ave. The spectacular view of downtown Raleigh is unmatched, and the food isn’t too shabby either.
- Rudino’s – Located in North Raleigh, Rudino’s serves up pizza and sandwiches on their rooftop sports bar.
- The Raleigh Times – Sidewalk eating at the Raleigh Times is perfect for people watching and enjoying some tasty BBQ nachos.
- Cosmic Cantina – Durham’s Cosmic Cantina offers burritos and vegetarian and vegan options in a pleasant balcony setting.
- Foster’s Market – This Durham salad, soup and sandwich shop is locally and nationally recognized for great food. Their porch seating just makes a good thing even better.
- Brightleaf – A shopping and eating haven in downtown Durham, most of the restaurants in Brightleaf Square have outdoor seating, so the choice is yours!
- Elmo’s Diner – Go for breakfast or a burger at this Carrboro diner, where local loyals often pack both the inside seating and patio.
- Top of the Hill - This Chapel Hill staple is the winner of over 25 “best of” awards, most notably for this list, Best Outdoor Dining.
- Lucky 32 - Probably the most formal restaurant on our list, Lucky 32′s Cary restaurant focuses on local ingredients and Southern flavor. Choose the terrace seating for outdoor dining.
