(Here’s a fresh perspective from Natalie Bates. She lives in Renaissance Park in Raleigh. She doesn’t live in a Standard Pacific Homes unit but she does love the neighborhood. Find out why.)
I’m a 67-year-old widow. Many of my friends remain where they have lived for years. Others have chosen to move to retirement communities. It was time for me to leave the large house, large yard, and the neighborhood where I’d lived since 1983. Where would I go? My initial thought was that I couldn’t leave Cary, BUT I couldn’t find anything that felt just right. A daughter e-mailed a link to a house in Renaissance Park, and on a day with nothing better to do, I ventured into Raleigh.
Well, as soon as I turned left from Tryon Road into Renaissance Park and began to drive around, I realized this was more than a development; it was a real community waiting to happen, or maybe it was already happening. I visited all the model homes and spoke to the builder agents. This was IT, and I was hooked! It wasn’t easy choosing a home from so many great choices. It wasn’t easy not buying a house from each of the friendly agents.
So, I bought my home on August 15, 2008, met and socialized with my neighbors (99% are younger), and joined the volunteer Advisory Committee to help plan events and communicate via our website: www.renparkonline.com.
I love this place–the look of it, the neighbors, the pool and recreation area (although I won’t be playing beach volleyball), the easy trip to downtown Raleigh events and restaurants, and the builder who makes sure everything is right with my house. I am home!
